“Need to Know” Morning Show Receives Traffic Safety Media Award

FARGO, ND- Steve Hallstrom and Alex Taylor with the “Need to Know” morning radio show in Fargo were selected to receive the North Dakota Department of Transportation’s (NDDOT) Traffic Safety Media Award. This award was presented by Captain Niewind with the North Dakota Highway Patrol (NDHP) on the morning of February 9, 2018 at the The Flag radio station in Fargo. 
 
AM 1100 The Flag is committed to ensuring accurate and fair reporting from law enforcement and wants to keep their listeners informed of traffic safety topics,” said Captain Niewind with the NDHP who nominated the station for this award.  
 
“With media such as the “Need to Know” morning show delivering traffic safety messages to their listeners, we can move towards achieving the state’s Vision Zero goal – which is zero motor vehicle fatalities and serious injuries on North Dakota roads,” says Karin Mongeon, Safety Division Director, NDDOT. 
 
The NDDOT receives nominations each year for the following awards: Traffic Safety Officer of the Year, Beyond the Traffic Stop, Drug Recognition Expert Officer of the Year, Child Passenger Safety Awards, Traffic Safety Honor Roll and a Traffic Safety Media Award.
