Vision Zero Plan
The
Vision Zero Plan
(formerly Strategic Highway Safety Plan [SHSP] Update, 2018-2023) is the result of a comprehensive and coordinated effort by North Dakota state agencies and more than 200 traffic safety partners representing state, local and tribal governments and private organizations. The detailed plan uses data to identify areas of improvement through education, roadway safety enhancements and policy decisions.

Seat Belt Use in North Dakota
North Dakota's seat belt use study provides statistically reliable data from which generalizations, comparative analyses, and recommendations can be developed based on a field survey of driver and right front-seat passenger seat belt use. This National Occupant Protection Use Survey (NOPUS) is based on national standards for survey design and field observations protocol. It provides the North Dakota Department of Transportation (NDDOT) with a systematic evaluation of seat belt use rates within the state. The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) funds NOPUS through the NDDOT's Safety Division.
